Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Aston Dynamics handles information in Leveller, its firmware update service and this support website. The publisher accounts are Aston Dynamics on Google Play and Deutsche Hydrapro LLC on the App Store. For privacy questions or requests, contact kaan@aston-dynamics.com.

Information kept on your devices

The app uses nearby sensor names and Bluetooth identifiers to find and reconnect to your chosen Leveller. It receives tilt, battery, calibration, measurement and firmware status from that sensor. These values are processed locally; the app does not send them to our servers.

Your selected sensor, display preferences and firmware-update recovery record are stored on your phone. Mounting calibration and trailer measurements are stored on the sensor. Android cloud backup is disabled for the app. On iOS, local app preferences may be included in your device backups according to your Apple backup settings. Diagnostic connection messages may appear in your phone's local system logs; the app does not automatically upload those logs.

Bluetooth and location permissions

Android 12 and later use Nearby devices permissions for Bluetooth scanning and connection. Android 8–11 require a location permission for Bluetooth discovery. Leveller uses that permission only to discover the sensor: it does not obtain GPS coordinates, infer your location, record a location history or request background location.

On iOS, Leveller requests Bluetooth access and does not request location access. You can revoke Bluetooth permission in your phone's Settings. Without Bluetooth access, live sensor features cannot work.

Firmware checks and downloads

When internet access is available, the app checks for firmware when it opens. A request identifies the Leveller product and, for a download, the requested release version. It does not include your sensor identifier, phone identifier, readings, saved setup or current sensor firmware version.

Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS), processes network information such as your IP address to deliver HTTPS requests and responses. We do not use that information to infer location or build user profiles. Request/access logging is disabled for the firmware API. Operational service logs, such as execution status and error types, are retained for 30 days; the app's sensor data and request bodies are not logged by this service.

Firmware is hosted in the United States. Website content may be delivered through AWS locations around the world. AWS provides infrastructure on our behalf. Levelling and installation of firmware included with the app can work without internet.

Support and this website

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a description or diagnostic attachment. We use it to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending unrelated personal information. We retain correspondence as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations; you can contact us to request access, correction or deletion.

This support website has no analytics, advertising, cookies or tracking scripts. Its hosting provider necessarily processes network information to deliver the pages. Website access logging is not enabled.

Sharing and security

Leveller contains no advertising or analytics SDK. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. Service providers may process information to operate hosting and support on our behalf. We may disclose information when required by law.

Online firmware and website requests use HTTPS. Phone information stays in the app's private storage. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure; contact us if you notice a security issue.

Your choices and deletion

Forget sensor removes the app's saved sensor selection. Clearing the app's storage on Android or deleting the app removes its local preferences and update records. On iOS, offloading the app can retain its data; device backups are managed separately in your Apple settings. These actions do not erase the separate calibration and measurements stored on the sensor. Contact support for help with sensor data or servicing.

There is no Leveller account to delete. You may use the local Bluetooth functions without internet and choose whether to install an offered update. For information you have sent to support, email kaan@aston-dynamics.com with your request.

Children and policy changes

Leveller is intended for people setting up stationary trailers and recreational vehicles, and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can address it.

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above.
